WW1 Merchant Fleet Auxiliary Medal and Paperwork Grouping
WW1 Merchant Fleet Auxiliary Medal and Paperwork Grouping, the medals consist of British War medal “G STEPHENS ASST STD M.F.A”, Mercantile Marine medal “CHARLES L STEPHENS” and Allied Victory medal “C STEPHENS ASST STD M.F.A”, note the error in initial on War medal. The medals are mounted for wear. The medals are accompanied by his WW1 cloth service chevrons, a selection of original paperwork and photographs, including his Merchant Navy Certificate of Discharge book which states he served on SS Arcadian, SS Olympic, SS Aquitania and SS Andes. Charles Leslie Stewart was born in 1896 in Hedgend near Southampton on 27th May 1896. SS Arcadian was sunk by German U-Boat UC-74 on 15th April 1917. SS Olympic was a White Star Line ship and was sister ship to the more famous Titanic. Categories:
