Boer War & WW1 Gallipoli Campaign Medal Group of Four Army Chaplains Department, late Kitchener’s Fighting Scouts, group consists of Queens South Africa medal with three clasps Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal, “274 PTE K M GRANT KITCH F S”, 1914-15 star “REV K M GRANT ACD”, British War and Victory medals “REV K M GRANT”. Accompanied by miniature Queens South Africa medal, photographs of Grant in uniform and ones taken at Gallipoli in 1915, paperwork relating to WW1 and pre-WW1 period. Kenneth Meeres Grant was from Bletchenden, Headcorn, Kent. He qualified as a second mate of a ship after serving his apprenticeship on the Lang & Fulton ship “Australia”. He left this company to join up with the Kitchener’s Fighting Scouts for the Boer War in South Africa. During WW1 he was appointed Chaplain to the Forces 4th Class and served during the Gallipoli campaign. Categories:
