Great War Medals to the Mitchell Brothers from Liverpool Who Both Served at Sea, 1914-15 Star Medal and British War Medal, “306883 C.J. MITCHELL STO.1. R.N.” Allied Victory Medal, “W. MITCHELL TR M.F.A.” Charles John Mitchell was born in Liverpool on 26th July 1886 and joined the Royal Navy as a stoker on 30th July 1904. He was demobilised on 18th March 1919, he did not qualify for a Long Service Medal due to 5 periods of detention during his service. His younger brother, William, served as a Trimmer in the Mercantile Fleet Auxiliary Categories: Medals
