Great War 1916 Military Medal and 1917 Second Award Bar Medal Group of 3 to 156th Field Company Royal Engineers, Military Medal, GVR, with second award bar, “98191 CPL E. EADE 156/F. COY R.E.”, British War and Victory Medals, “98191 SJT. R. EADE R.E.” Military Medal, London Gazette 16th November 1916 - 98191 Cpl. (Actg. Sjt.) E. Eade, R.E. Bar to the Military Medal, London Gazette 9th July 1917 - 98191 Sjt. E. Eade, R.E. Edward Eade was a 26-year-old Policeman living in Brighton when he attested for the Royal Engineers on 25th May 1915. He transferred to 156th Field Company on 10th August 1915 and went to France with them on 19th December 1915. He was wounded on 2 occasions, 12th August 1916 and on 24th December 1917 (GSW face), he returned to active service and was discharged to Class Z Army Reserve on 3rd February 1919. Edward Eade died in Bognor Regis on 12th May 1959. Please note that this recipient is also entitled to a 1914-15 Star Medal. Categories: Medals
