A large and impressive painted wooden red brick dolls house, Irish circa 1820,

A large and impressive painted wooden red brick dolls house, Irish circa 1820, with painted grey panelled ‘dummy’ front door, moulded portico, large glazed windows with original paper window bars and wooden sills, nicely moulded coining to sides and painted black pitch roof with two chimneys, the front opens in three wings to six large rooms, hallway and two landings on three levels, with built in staircase on all levels, six hinged interior doors with wooden moulded surrounds, kitchen with built in fireplace surround with spit rack above, other rooms with primitive fireplaces, wooden floors and some remains of original wall papers, 62 ½” (159cm) tall, 73 ¾” (187cm) wide, 25” (65cm) deep, ground floor rooms 16” (41cm) tall, first floor 14 ½” (36.5), top floor 12” (30.5), (condition: good original paint to exterior, wall papers are worn, some minor old inactive woodworm), together with a selection of later contents including a selection of wooden furniture, beds, cots, chest of drawers, various chairs, painted cream kitchen dresser and kitchen ware, including, china, ornaments, large selection of pictures, mirrors and eight various dolls (all with damage/loss). This Dolls house has always been in the same family and handed down over the generations to the eldest daughter, dating to the early 19th century its history is tied to the Gollock family an affluent Irish family of the time. The house was crafted by skilled estate workers from timber taken from the property in County Cork or Limerick and mirrors the architectural style of the family residence.
